I dedicate this poem to all the girls who once shone so brightly and now feels like they have lost their light. Remember though, that once a star, always a star. Another poem I wrote. Limpid pools of almond eyes Staring straight into my soul and reading my mind. Seeing what lies beneath Waiting for things that are hidden to unravel. Darn those almond eyes which turn my knees to jelly As they bore into mine Everything seems to be all right. My heart skips a beat each time you do that If only I could wipe those tears you shed for her If only I could take away your pain. To see those eyes smile again. When you look at me, is it really me that you see? Or remnants of her that you wish I would be... But when you look at me with the saddest of eyes, I know that there is no room for lies. If only this was a perfect world, you and I would be together.  We would have made plans and talk about forever.  It would have been your coffee I fix in the morning,  and curl in bed watching our favorite movies til the ending.  But the world is not perfect -and still won't be last time I checked.  So here we are apart,  though it had always been you from the start.  Now we pass by and politely nod at each other,  and there's always that bittersweet pain in the chest that gathers.  -from Leia's beautiful mind 03/10/13

Will time make me forget?  The way I thought that smile was reserved for me,  how I used to run my fingers through your hair as you sleep.  Those simple joys of waking up to prepare your favorite dish,  and hearing you say you're building a castle for me. Please allow me to be a total Nazi on the pronunciation of some words commonly mispronounced by Filipinos.  I am in no way perfect and just wanted to give you a "for-your-information" kind of post because you don't know how much I try to control myself not to correct you when I hear you mispronounce some words so as not to embarrass you publicly.  But you have to know that this is one of my pet peeves. 1. Firm/Confirm  correct pronunciation: ( fɜːm)/ (con"fur"m) mispronounced as: (fEErm)/(confEErm) I don't know how this started but ever since we were in primary, secondary and tertiary education it has always been pronounced with a short "i".  But nowadays I hear some people say it with the long "i".  i.e. I already "confEErmed" it with him.  And I was like: (?!!?!?!?!?!?!).  No people it is not a trend. Cheers to the freakin' weekend I'll drink to that....yeah!! Err..No, I won't since I am in front of my computer writing this blog post. See, I used to enjoy partying all night til dawn in clubs/bars but I think I grew out of it.  Before I start my rant, here are important details to know about me: I AM NOT A WILD CHILD, I STUDIED LIKE THE DEVIL DURING MY STUDENT DAYS (i.e.. I don't go out at all), AND THUS, I MADE "BAWI" AFTER I GRADUATED, I'M NOT ALCOHOLIC, I DON'T SMOKE, I DON'T FLIRT WITH MEN IN CLUBS, I DON'T GO HOME WITH STRANGE MEN, I JUST HAPPEN TO LOVE....DANCING.  That's about the only reason why I go there in the first place.   I love to absorb the music and the energy.
